I hope this bites these Police officers in the ass for this kind of reckless open shooting in a crowded area, and not try to help protect the people surrounding this hostage incident or the UPS truck driver, Eleven officers shot that van up? Such was NOT necessary! Now four people dead because of this brand of Hollywood-style stupidity.

Law enforcement is on an all out murder spree, and the courts never find them responsible for anything.

From what I heard the Feds are in on this, though I don't have any illusions on that they will charge any cop with reckless endangerment, murder, etc. All show and no results from it. And you wonder why so many hate cops these days? Its well earned, esp in light of this Hollywood-like stupidity.

Most UPS trucks have GPS on them, the cops could have let the robbers go, and tracked them via the UPS truck, but Nooo we gotta act like a bunch of gun-toting Hollywood types and go all guns blazing like some 'Heeero's. Friggin lunatics.

Had I been in charge of that police department, I would have FIRED every single last one of those jackasses right on the spot, then levy murder charges on every single one of those cops that fired their guns into that van. There just is NO excuse for this brand of unmitigated stupidity... I'm appalled over this.

It's about time someone starts questioning the cops tactics here.

Law Enforcement should no longer be called LE, but MI (Murder Inc). While I come down on what is perceived as the left side of this argument, I do so for wildly different reasons. When our MI becomes the Judge, Jury and Executioner, we are well on the way to the Waffen SS, the Russian Death Squads, King Farouk's Iron Guard, or the Chinese Death Vans. The only difference is that our Police murderers are being caught on video.

How do you reign this problem in? Would showing the videos help that any?
I think the best way to rectify this is to regain in control of the Police Academies and make them train the Cops differently from what they are doing today, the 'Us vs them' mentality, i.e. everyone who is not a cop is a BAD form of training and needs to be ended.

I think the answer has to be a draconian change. Officers can no longer be officer of the court, and cannot be afforded any additional protections from the courts. In short, if an officer shoots a civilian they must be held to a higher standard, each shooting must come under civilian review, or a trial, and cannot use union legal representation. If the defacto position of the court is that officers can do no wrong, wrong is all they will do.

THAT is a Very good thing to do, why this hasn't been done is beyond me.

That and drastically changing the mindset and attitude that's pounded and expounded in police candidates in Police Academies would go a Huge long way to fixing this problem.
