To your point, this is one of the major reasons I don't trust McConnell. He and Paul Ryan were working against Trump every second of every day. Plus, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (Roberts) has to swear in the Senate for the Jury portion of the pending impeachment if the articles are ever given to the Senate, and reports are that Roberts is deep in the pockets of the left, some even suggest not mentally stable.
I believe the if/when the articles are brought before the Senate that McConnell and Roberts will try to roll Trump, and actually find him guilty.
The most disturbing turn of events over the last week is Pelosi inviting Trump to give a State of the Union, USMCA passing the House, and Trump signing the new Omnibus. Hell with the Impeachment, the last two of these are utterly confusing, especially in light of Trump's previous promise to never sign another Omnibus. Something very rotten is going on in all three of our leadership branches of government, and I don't like the smell.
