I don't think many knew he served in the Armed forces during WW2.

Most of his Hollywood era did serve. I think it is funny that not a dime of his 61 Million fortune goes to his sons. I guess he did not want his Socialist offspring getting ahold of his hard earned capitalist dollars?

Or maybe he wanted them to work for every dime they earned, so they could appreciate it more then if they had been given it.
